What cookies are

What this site stores: one thing, only if you ask for it

This site sets no cookies of any kind — no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies, no session cookies. The only information it can place on your device is a single entry in your browser's localStorage that remembers your light/dark theme choice, written only if you use the theme toggle:

Why no consent is needed

This entry exists solely to carry out a display preference you actively selected — a "user-interface customisation" that European data protection guidance (Article 29 Working Party Opinion 04/2012 on the cookie consent exemption) recognises as exempt from the consent requirement, because it is strictly necessary to provide the functionality you requested. The value stored is a single word such as "dark". It contains no personal data, is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, cannot be used to identify or track you, and never leaves your browser.

No tracking, no analytics, no third parties

We do not use web analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, social media widgets or embedded third-party content that sets cookies. Our hosting provider delivers the site's files without setting cookies on this domain.

How to remove the stored preference

You can delete the theme entry at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website (usually under Settings → Privacy → Site data). The site will simply fall back to your operating system's light/dark preference. Blocking storage entirely does not break the site.

If this ever changes

Should we ever introduce analytics or any technology requiring consent, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before anything is stored.
